Sales & Placement Policy

Placement Requirements

All rabbits are placed as indoor companion animals only.
Pet placements require execution of the Companion Rabbit Placement & Spay/Neuter Agreement.
Rabbits are placed based on overall fit, not order of inquiry.

Pricing

Placement fees reflect age and spay/neuter status and are consistent regardless of color or markings.

Unaltered junior rabbits (2–5 months) - $350

Neutered bucks (4 years and under) - $600

Spayed does (4 years and under) - $650

Neutered bucks (5-6 years) -$250

Spayed does (5-7 years) -$250

We place rabbit bucks up to approximately six years of age, and rabbit does up to approximately seven years of age, mainly as companions for rabbits who have lost their bonded rabbit friend. Beyond that stage, rabbits remain with us as permanent residents.

****Please Note: Fee Adjustment Effective July 1, 2026

As veterinary expenses and the cost of hay, feed, and daily rabbit care continue to rise, we will be adjusting our placement fees for already altered rabbits beginning July 1, 2026.

Until June 30:

Neutered bucks (4 years and under): $400
Spayed does (4 years and under): $450

Beginning July 1:

Neutered bucks (4 years and under): $600
Spayed does (4 years and under): $650

Thank you for supporting responsible rabbit care and helping us ensure that every rabbit receives the quality care they deserve.

Reservation & Payment

A rabbit may be reserved with a $50 non-refundable deposit, which is applied toward the total purchase price.

Deposits may be sent via Venmo or PayPal.

The remaining balance is due in cash at the time of pickup.

Age at Placement

Rabbits are not placed before eight (8) weeks of age.
No exceptions are made to this policy.

Temperament & Development

Temperament descriptions are based on observation while the rabbit is in our care. Environmental changes, hormones, and maturation may affect behavior over time. Temperament cannot be guaranteed after placement.

Sex Determination

While every effort is made to accurately determine sex, rabbits may occasionally be mis-sexed. Sex is not guaranteed.

Health Guarantee

Rabbits are guaranteed to be healthy and free of injury at the time they leave our care. Once a rabbit leaves Hot Cross Buns Holland Lops, we are not responsible for illness, injury, or health conditions that may arise.

Refunds & Returns

No refunds are offered.
If a rabbit cannot remain with the Purchaser, the rabbit must be returned to Hot Cross Buns Holland Lops in accordance with the Placement Agreement.

Pickup & Transport

Rabbits are not shipped.
The Purchaser must be present at pickup.
All paperwork is completed at the time of pickup.

Multiple Rabbit Placements

Two rabbits of opposite sex will not be placed together unless one rabbit is already spayed or neutered.

What Goes Home With Each Rabbit

At pickup, each rabbit is provided with:

Birth record
Care information
Transitional pellet food
Transitional hay
Small comfort items

Final Note

By proceeding with a placement inquiry, the Purchaser acknowledges that they have reviewed and understand this Sales & Placement Policy and the Companion Rabbit Placement & Spay/Neuter Agreement.
