Placement Form

Hot Cross Buns is not a high-volume or casual placement program. We are a small, carefully run rabbitry that has raised Holland Lop rabbits as indoor family companions for over ten years. Each rabbit here is known individually, and their care, temperament, and long-term wellbeing matter deeply to us.

Because of this, our placement process is thoughtful and selective. We are not looking for the first interested home—we are looking for the right fit for each rabbit. That distinction shapes everything about how we work.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out. Your responses help us understand your home, your experience, and what you’re hoping for in a rabbit.

Bringing a rabbit into your home is a long-term commitment, and we approach placement with care, intention, and respect for each rabbit as an individual.

This form is intended for families who are:

  • Preparing to welcome a rabbit within the next 1–8 weeks

  • Willing to provide an indoor, integrated home

  • Committed to proper diet, housing, and veterinary care

  • Open to thoughtful matching rather than selecting based on appearance alone

You do not need to know everything, but we do need to know that you have taken time to learn, prepare, and think through daily life with a rabbit.

If you are still in the early research stage, we gently encourage you to spend more time with the All Things Bunny Blog before submitting.

We read every form carefully. Thoughtful, well-prepared applications are prioritized.

Before continuing, please read carefully:

To move forward with placement, you should already be prepared to:

  • Identify a rabbit-savvy (exotic) veterinarian

  • Provide a clear indoor housing plan

  • Commit to spay/neuter at the appropriate age

  • Provide three references (name, relationship, and email address for each, and ensure they are aware they may be contacted)

If these are not yet in place, please pause here and return once you are ready.

Most families find it helpful to set aside about 15–20 minutes to complete this form thoughtfully.
