A Gentle Note on Care & Placement
All Hot Cross Buns rabbits are placed as indoor companion rabbits with their long-term wellbeing in mind.
As part of our placement agreement, rabbits are required to be spayed or neutered at approximately six months of age to support both health and behavior as they mature.
Each rabbit goes home with transition supplies to help those first days feel steady and well-supported for both rabbit and family.
Our Approach to Placement
At Hot Cross Buns, we do not take a “pick and purchase” approach.
Each rabbit is known and observed individually, and placements are made carefully based on personality, home environment, and long-term fit.
You are not expected to choose perfectly on your own.
Instead, we invite you to:
• Notice which rabbits you feel drawn to
• Read through their descriptions carefully
• Share your home, preferences, and hopes through the Placement Form
From there, we guide the matching process and help determine which rabbit is the best fit for your home.
Some families come with one rabbit in mind. Others are open to guidance.
Clarity and openness matter more than certainty.
Roam (IF You Want To)
Solid Lilac Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 18, 2026
Status: Available for matching
Placement Fee: $350
A Gentle Spirit Looking for a Gentle Home
Roam is the kind of rabbit who prefers to take life at her own comfortable pace. Rather than racing to be the center of attention, she's happiest quietly watching the world around her and taking everything in before deciding it's safe to join in.
When deciding to continue with our "movement" name theme for this litter, Roam earned her name from the B-52's song, "Roam", because she really is going to roam only if she wants to. Otherwise, she's a little love of a lumpy Bun.
She has a calm, low-energy personality and would much rather remain unnoticed than be the focus of a busy room. When handling is gentle and unhurried, she settles comfortably for cuddles and seems content simply being close to her people.
Roam is naturally observant and thoughtful. New sights, sounds, and experiences are something she prefers to evaluate carefully before deciding they're nothing to worry about. Because of that, she'll thrive with a family that allows her the time and patience to build confidence at her own pace rather than expecting her to be instantly outgoing.
We think Roam would be happiest in a quieter household with older, respectful children and without loud or overly energetic dogs. For someone who appreciates the quieter personalities, she's the kind of rabbit who forms a relationship gradually—and those relationships are often especially rewarding.

Mosey
Broken Opal Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 18, 2026
Status: RESERVED for Cassidy W.
Placement Fee: $350
Taking Life One Hop at a Time
Mosey approaches new experiences with quiet thoughtfulness. She's the kind of rabbit who likes a little time to decide that everything is safe, but once she feels comfortable, her playful side begins to shine.
She has a pleasant medium energy level and enjoys binkying, exploring, and playing with her littermates. While she isn't the first rabbit to rush toward every new adventure, she also isn't one to disappear into the background. Instead, she tends to find a comfortable middle ground—taking things in stride and joining in when she's ready.
As she matures, we expect Mosey to become a wonderfully balanced companion. She has the makings of a rabbit who enjoys both active playtime and quiet evenings relaxing with her family, adapting naturally to the rhythm of everyday life.
Mosey would be a lovely choice for a family looking for a rabbit with a steady, easygoing temperament—one who simply asks for a little patience while she settles into her new home before showing her full personality.

Meander
Solid Opal Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 18, 2026
Status: Available for matching
Placement Fee: $350
Every Adventure Begins with One Hop
Meander is the natural explorer of her litter. She's usually the first to investigate something new, eager to discover what's happening and understand the world around her. Rather than being impulsive or overly busy, her curiosity is thoughtful and confident, making her a joy to watch as she explores.
She has a wonderful balance of confidence and gentleness. Brave enough to approach new situations with interest, she also has a sweet, affectionate nature that makes her easy to love. Whether she's hopping over to inspect a new toy or relaxing with the people she trusts, Meander approaches life with quiet confidence and an open heart.
Because of her steady temperament, we expect Meander to adapt well to a variety of homes. She has the makings of a wonderful all-around companion—playful without being overwhelming, confident without being demanding, and affectionate without being clingy.
If you're looking for a rabbit who's eager to be part of everyday family life while still having a calm, thoughtful personality, Meander is a beautiful example of the kind of companion we love to raise.

Skedaddle
Broken Opal Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 18, 2026
Status: Available for matching
Placement Fee: $350
Hidden Gems Shine in Their Own Time
Every litter seems to have one rabbit who's still quietly becoming herself, and for this litter, that's Skedaddle.
She's a gentle, thoughtful little doe who prefers to take her time. While she isn't usually the first to investigate something new, she also doesn't fade completely into the background. Instead, she's content to watch, learn, and join in once she feels comfortable.
Skedaddle still has a bit of growing into herself to do, and that's perfectly okay. Some young rabbits reveal their personalities almost immediately, while others continue to blossom over the weeks and months after they settle into a home of their own. We have a feeling Skedaddle may be one of those rabbits.
She enjoys the comfort of familiar surroundings and appreciates reassurance as she encounters new experiences, but she's already becoming a little more independent each week. With patient guidance and a family willing to let her develop at her own pace, we expect her confidence to continue growing.
For someone who enjoys watching a rabbit's unique personality unfold over time, Skedaddle may become one of those wonderfully rewarding companions whose quiet strengths reveal themselves little by little.

Wander
Solid Lilac Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 18, 2026
Status: Available for matching
Placement Fee: $350
The Comfort of a Trusted Friend
Wander has a calm confidence that's easy to appreciate. She's naturally curious and enjoys exploring what's happening around her, but she does so without being overly busy or demanding. Instead, she seems content to take the world in stride, approaching new experiences with quiet assurance.
She has one of those wonderfully steady personalities that can be easy to overlook at first—not because she's lacking character, but because she's simply comfortable being herself. Wander is easy to handle, rarely makes a fuss, and seems happiest just being part of whatever is going on.
There's something especially comforting about her presence. She has a gentle, attentive nature that gives the impression she'll be the kind of rabbit who's happy to sit nearby while you read, work, or simply unwind after a long day. Not every companion needs to entertain you every minute; some simply make life feel a little calmer by being there.
Because of her even temperament and relaxed approach to life, we think Wander could be a wonderful choice for someone looking for a steady, reassuring friend. She has all the makings of the kind of rabbit who quietly becomes an important part of everyday life.

Toddles
Broken Opal Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 3, 2026
Status: Available for Matching
Placement Fee: $350
Curious explorer and full of fun - Toddles is ready for whatever adventure her future holds!
Toddles has always led the litter in trying new things and getting into mischief. She has a sweetly outgoing personality and would be a wonderful pet for a gentle and loving family. Nothing really phases her for more than a moment or two. She's curious about dogs and cats, and is always ready to make new friends.
She would love a home where she can free roam and follow her beloved family from place to place. Toddles loves to be involved and included in everything. When she needs to stay in an exercise pen, she can usually be found with her nose pressed through the bars, straining to see what's happening without her "help."

Waddles
Broken Opal Baby Doe
Date of Birth: May 3, 2026
Status: Available for matching
Placement Fee: $350
Sweetly expressive and full of joy, Waddles is like a ray of sunshine in an adorable bunny suit.
If you look carefully, Waddles looks like she has a starfish shape on her forehead. We can't promise this special feature will remain throughout her life as she goes through molts and grows, but she is definitely a special little star!
Waddles is a gentle explorer and has a more cautious nature, but when she feels safe, she blossoms and opens up with little binkies and her characteristic waddle-run that earned her her name when she was tiny.
She would do best in a home with adults and prefers older children who are respectful of animals and are able to allow her the space she needs to decide to come to them at her own pace. She will engage, but she likes to move at her own pace.
Waddles can get "kicky" when being held, so interaction on the floor is best as she grows accustomed to her new home and life.

Robin
Chestnut Junior Buck
Date of Birth: February 24, 2026
Status: Available for Matching until July 24th
Placement Fee: $350
Playful, outgoing, and always in motion—Robin brings a bright, curious energy to everything he explores.
Robin has always been the most outgoing and playful among his littermates. He bounces, binkies, and investigates anything that catches his interest, rarely missing an opportunity to explore something new.
He has a sweet, affectionate side as well, but he tends to keep cuddle time short and sweet so he can continue investigating everything that interests him.
Robin thrives on interaction and will do best in a home where he receives plenty of attention and opportunities to play and explore. He is not a sit-still-and-cuddle kind of rabbit, but he brings a joyful, playful energy and a bit of “class clown” charm wherever he goes.

Sparrow
Chestnut Junior Doe
Date of Birth: February 24, 2026
Status: Available for matching until July 24th
Placement Fee:$350
Balanced and steady, Sparrow moves easily between independence and quiet connection.
Sparrow is very much a middle-of-the-road girl, with a gentle balance of independence and affection.
She is content to keep herself busy when her playmates are otherwise engaged, but also comes over for pets and quiet moments of attention when she feels inclined.
She moves easily between play and rest, appreciating both opportunities to explore and time to settle in and observe her surroundings. There’s a bit of an “absent-minded professor” air about her—thoughtful, slightly distracted at times, and quietly curious.
Sparrow would do well in a calm, steady home where she can be both included and given space to be herself. She has a very sweet nature and seems happiest in an environment that is gentle, peaceful, and consistent.

Meadowlark 'Lark'
Opal Junior Buck
Date of Birth: February 26, 2026
Status: Available for matching until July 26th
Placement Fee: $350
Thoughtful and observant, Lark shows a blend of curiosity and caution as he takes in the world around him.
Lark is a thoughtful little rabbit who shows a blend of both curiosity and caution. At times he is outgoing and interested in what’s around him, and at other times he becomes quiet and observant, taking a moment before deciding how he feels.
It’s not unusual for a young rabbit to show what seem like opposite traits, and in Lark’s case, familiarity and confidence will play a big role in how he settles into himself. He prefers to be certain that everything is safe and predictable before letting loose and showing his more playful side.
Lark is more sensitive to his environment than some of the others, particularly when it comes to louder or sudden noises. He tends to notice these things quickly and may pause or startle briefly, but he also settles again once the environment feels predictable and calm.
With time and maturity, he is likely to become a well-balanced rabbit who is able to enjoy interaction while remaining comfortably independent. He would likely do well in a quieter home, where he can build confidence at his own pace.

Wren
Chestnut Junior Doe
Date of Birth: February 24, 2026
Status: Available for matching until July 24th
Placement Fee: $350
Quiet and observant, Wren takes her time, watching first and engaging when she feels ready.
Wren is the quiet, observant sweetie of the litter. She tends to watch from a comfortable distance, taking everything in, often with an expressive little face that seems to be quietly evaluating the world around her.
She will come forward for attention, pets, and quiet interaction when she feels ready, rather than seeking it out constantly. Wren has a gently independent nature, but there is a softness to her that suggests she will continue to open up over time.
She would do especially well in a quieter, slower-paced home where she can build trust at her own speed. In the right environment, she may grow into a deeply affectionate, closely bonded companion.

Kipling
Broken Opal Neutered Buck
Date of Birth: July 14, 2025
Status: Available for matching
Placement Fee: $600
Your future best bunny friend.
Kipling is a handsome broken opal Holland Lop buck who will celebrate his first birthday in just two weeks. He has recently been neutered and is already showing the easygoing, social personality that makes us optimistic about his future as a bonding companion.
Kipling is naturally curious and loves to explore his surroundings. He's the kind of rabbit who wants to investigate every corner and see what you're up to. He also genuinely enjoys meeting other rabbits and has shown a calm, friendly interest in new bunny friends, giving him all the makings of a wonderful bonding buck for the right companion.
Like any newly neutered rabbit, Kipling will still need time for his hormones to fully settle before beginning a permanent bond, but his temperament is extremely promising. We believe he has the potential to become a devoted companion who will thrive in a loving indoor home.
Litter Box Notes: Kipling is still working on his litter box habits. Living in a rabbitry with the constant sight and scent of so many other rabbits can make consistent litter habits difficult, especially for a young buck. We expect he will continue to improve in a typical pet home once he's away from the distractions and territorial influences of other rabbits, but his new family should be prepared to reinforce good habits with patience and consistency.
As with all of our rabbits, Kipling is looking for a home that views rabbits as cherished family members and is committed to providing excellent lifelong care. If you're searching for a friendly, inquisitive young buck with great bonding potential, Kipling may be the perfect addition to your family.

Quinoa
Solid Opal Spayed Doe
Date of Birth: January 12, 2024
Status: Available for matching soon
Placement Fee: $650
A curious little lady with just the right amount of sass.
Quinoa is a gorgeous 2½-year-old solid opal Holland Lop doe who has recently been spayed and is ready to begin the next chapter of her life with a family of her own.
Curious by nature, Quinoa loves to investigate her surroundings and always wants to know what's happening around her. Whether she's exploring a new room or supervising your daily activities, she's happiest when there's something interesting to discover.
Quinoa has an independent spirit and just a touch of diva mixed into her personality. She knows what she likes and isn't afraid to let you know, but she's also a genuinely sweet rabbit who enjoys life and makes her people smile with her charming expressions and confident attitude. She isn't demanding—she simply has a personality all her own.
Now that she's been spayed, Quinoa is ready to settle into life as a beloved indoor companion. We think she'll thrive with a family who appreciates a rabbit with confidence, curiosity, and plenty of character.
As with all of our rabbits, Quinoa is looking for an indoor home where she will be cherished as a member of the family and receive excellent lifelong care. If you're searching for a doe with a delightful mix of sweetness, independence, and personality, Quinoa just might be your perfect match.

Growing Up at Hot Cross Buns
Junior rabbits (rabbits under six months of age) remain available as unaltered companions through approximately 5 months of age. At that point, those who have not yet been placed are removed from active listings as they are prepared for their spay/neuter procedure.
Following recovery, they may later return to the Available Buns page as altered companion rabbits at the corresponding adult placement fee. This approach allows us to prioritize long-term health, wellbeing, and smoother transitions into permanent companion homes while continuing to evaluate each rabbit’s developing personality and needs as he/she matures.
A $50 deposit will hold a rabbit, with the remaining balance due in cash at pickup. You can review our full Sales & Placement Policy for additional details.
Next Steps
If you feel drawn to one or more rabbits and believe your home may be a good fit, the next step is to complete the Placement Form.
The form begins a conversation rather than a commitment and helps guide the matching process.
Because placement is centered around temperament and long-term compatibility, we may occasionally suggest a rabbit you had not initially considered — or encourage you to wait for a future match.
