About Kipling

Kipling is a handsome broken opal Holland Lop buck who will celebrate his first birthday in mid-July. He has recently been neutered and is already showing the easygoing, social personality that makes us optimistic about his future as a bonding companion.

Kipling is naturally curious and loves to explore his surroundings. He's the kind of rabbit who wants to investigate every corner and see what you're up to. He also genuinely enjoys meeting other rabbits and has shown a calm, friendly interest in new bunny friends, giving him all the makings of a wonderful bonding buck for the right companion.

Like any newly neutered rabbit, Kipling will still need time for his hormones to fully settle before beginning a permanent bond, but his temperament is extremely promising. We believe he has the potential to become a devoted companion who will thrive in a loving indoor home.

Litter Box Notes: Kipling is still working on his litter box habits. Living in a rabbitry with the constant sight and scent of so many other rabbits can make consistent litter habits difficult, especially for a young buck. We expect he will continue to improve in a typical pet home once he's away from the distractions and territorial influences of other rabbits, but his new family should be prepared to reinforce good habits with patience and consistency.

As with all of our rabbits, Kipling is looking for a home that views rabbits as cherished family members and is committed to providing excellent lifelong care. If you're searching for a friendly, inquisitive young buck with great bonding potential, Kipling may be the perfect addition to your family.

Kipling in Action

Best-Fit Home

Kipling’s best-fit home is one where a bonded pair is the goal. He genuinely enjoys being near other rabbits and seems to have the heart of one half of a loving pair. When he is out free roaming, he often chooses to visit the other rabbits, showing a gentle, playful interest in companionship.

Because of this, we would especially love to see Kipling placed in a home where careful, patient bonding is planned and where he will have the chance to build a close relationship with another compatible rabbit. While he is friendly and enjoys being part of what is happening around him, Kipling is not usually the kind of rabbit who wants to sit still for long petting sessions or cuddles. He would likely be happiest forming a slow, steady bond with another rabbit while also being included in daily family life.

Kipling may do well in a home with gentle, rabbit-respectful dogs, and he has shown curiosity about cats. He may also be a good fit for children who truly enjoy caring for rabbits and can understand that his affection is more active and playful than snuggly.

Kipling would also do best in a home that hopes to give him generous free-roam time each day — or possibly a full-time free-roam setup once his litter habits are reliable. He is a sweet, social rabbit who will likely blossom most in a home where he can be part of daily life rather than tucked away on the sidelines.

Placement Notes

Kipling is being placed as an indoor companion rabbit through our normal placement process. He will go to an approved home only, and all placements are based on thoughtful fit rather than first-come availability.

His new family should be prepared to provide a safe indoor setup, daily interaction, proper diet, regular grooming, and appropriate veterinary care as needed. A signed placement agreement is required.

Because Kipling is neutered, he may be a good candidate for a carefully planned bond with another compatible rabbit, but introductions should always be slow, supervised, and done with patience.

If you feel Kipling may be a good fit for your home, please read our Before You Apply page first. If our placement approach and requirements feel like a good match, you may then complete the Placement Form so we can learn more about your home and whether Kipling may be the right Bun for you.
