About Genevieve...

  • Genevieve was born on September 3, 2020, at Hook's Hollands in Wellington, OH.

  • She is a false dwarf solid cream doe, which means she's a bigger girl.

  • Genevieve's nickname is Jenny, although she vastly prefers to be called Genevieve in the French pronunciation. She calls us peasants when we refer to her as Jenny in her hearing.

  • She received some war wounds during free-roaming time, when she got too close to our French Angora doe, Sukie, and to now-retired pet doe Will-o the Wisp. One took a nip at her nose, and the other took a chunk out of her ear.

  • Genevieve was an incredibly good breeding doe and always raised strong, healthy babies.

  • She was spayed in June 28, 2024, and will be ready for a loving pet home.

  • Jenny is our largest doe and weighs close to six lbs.

  • She is a very curious and rather independent girl who loves to free-roam.

Genevieve is a spunky, fun girl with more personality in one paw than most people have in their whole body. She does not know how to say please or thank you, but she knows how to demand what she wants with her imperious attitude and a toss of her head. She does not have a timid bone in her body and is a true busy-body who sticks her nose into everyone's business. She demands to know how her minions spend their time. Genevieve, with her ruff and "pantaloons", is a gorgeous girl with generous curves to match her sassy attitude. She flings her toys and, occasionally, a food bowl. Very good with her litter box, she likes to be tidy and is quite persnickety about how she likes her pen to be organized. Everything must be just so. Genevieve doesn't have a mean bone in her body, but she exudes confidence and curiosity from the tip of her wonky nose to her pluffy little tail. We love this girl and know she will be a great fit for a family who loves rabbits with sass and style. We do prefer a more experienced rabbit family for her.

Genevieve has the potential for being an excellent bonding doe for a neutered buck. There is something about her that the bucks in the rabbitry, whether already neutered or not, has found absolutely irresistible. During their independent (individual) free-roam time, each buck would end up sitting right in front of Genevieve's two story cage space, rubbing noses with her, and gazing longingly at her. They act absolutely love-sick and as though they are ready to slay dragons for her. As an excellent mother, Genevieve has always been a nurturing doe and quite affectionate towards the bucks when she was with them for breeding. It will take a few months for her hormones to taper off to the point she won't be interested in attempting to aggressively mount a buck as part of the breeding ritual, but very gradual proximity bonding could begin. (Proximity bonding involves gradually inching their exercise pens closer to each other, to allow them to feel comfortable and relaxed in each other's presence, before beginning actual face-to-face contact bonding.)

Genevieve will go to her new home with a bag full of goodies including: a packet of bunny care information, a small bag of transition food and hay, a snack baggie of old-fashioned raw oats for treats, a toy, and a fleece snuggle mat.
