How do we even begin to describe Parson Brown? For starters, we weren't even sure this little guy was going to make it. He was always shoved down at the bottom of the pile of his brothers and sisters or kicked out of the way at feeding time, so he wasn't getting as much milk from Henrietta as all the others did. We had to do some one-on-one feedings with him and his mama, just to make sure he got his fair share until he was old enough to eat hat and nibble on pellets.
He's still the smallest in the litter, but he is as energetic and crazy-playful as they come. He likes to live rather dangerously and has to be supervised all the time. Parson Brown loves to make mischief and give people heart palpitations. He can squeeze into tiny spots and will climb anything he can find a foothold on. He gets close to the edge every time he's on the couch with us and loves to climb the back cushions to look out the windows. He rarely ever sits still.
His ideal family will have ample time to supervise his play and exploration time, which he needs in abundance. He will most likely become destructive if kept penned up and alone for too long, so we would prefer for him to go to a family who is home most of the day and can interact with him throughout.
Parson Brown is at the top of the chart for energy. At his quietest, he's still about a five, unless you happen to catch him sleeping. Nothing scares or intimidates him, so supervision with children and other pets is a must. We're hoping he will calm down after he is neutered, but there are no guarantees.
We believe the Parson is going to stay on the smaller side, probably around 3.5lbs when fully grown. Like Hippopotamus, his coat is a bit fluffier, so a bit of extra grooming around his bottom may be necessary from time to time to keep him tidy.
We encourage playtime on the floor as he settles in and his family learns how to handle him. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of "look before you leap" so hopefully that will develop very soon. He is such a cute and sweet little guy, but he's like a toddler stuck in the rambunctious stage. Nap times are a beautiful thing. :D
As the Hot Cross Buns are raised to be pampered pets, we do require the signing of a Spay/Neuter Agreement as part of our placement paperwork. Please speak to your rabbit-knowledgeable vet to inquire about their services and fees.
All of the baby Buns go to their new homes with a bag full of goodies including: a packet of bunny care information, a small bag of transition food and hay, a snack baggie of old-fashioned raw oats for treats, a toy, and a fleece snuggle mat.
