About Mississippi Mud Pie
Mississippi Mud Pie—Missy to her friends—is a five-year-old spayed Holland Lop doe who will celebrate her sixth birthday on November 7, 2026.
Missy was born at Heart’s Desire Rabbitry, where she was originally known as Betsy. She later joined us at Hot Cross Buns and became one of the most striking does we ever added to our breeding program. During her time as a mother, she raised four kits: Wynkin, Blinkin, and Nod in her first litter, followed by a single daughter named Ruffles.
Missy is a gorgeous, substantial girl with an ample dewlap and an even more impressive skirt—affectionately known around here as her “butt ruffle.” She carries herself with the confidence of a rabbit who knows perfectly well that she is beautiful.
Temperament-wise, Missy is a true diva, and we mean that with tremendous affection. When things do not go according to her plans, she will thump one wee foot with surprising authority. She also has a glare capable of leaving the offending person wondering how they might regain her favor.
Beneath all that drama, however, Missy is a genuinely sweet girl with a great deal of love to give. She knows what she likes, has no hesitation about expressing her opinions, and deserves a family who will appreciate her personality rather than expect her to become someone she is not. Missy was meant to be cherished, indulged, and treated like the pampered princess she already believes herself to be.
We have previously introduced Missy to a buck who was looking for a companion, but she was not particularly interested. That does not mean she could never form a good bond; she simply has not yet met a rabbit she considers worthy. Any future bonding attempt would need to proceed slowly and with realistic expectations. Missy may also be perfectly content as a treasured single rabbit receiving plenty of attention from her people.
Missy in Action

Best-Fit Home
Missy would be happiest with a loving indoor family who enjoys a rabbit with confidence, humor, and strong opinions. Her family should be willing to let her settle in at her own pace, respect her preferences, and appreciate the affection she offers without trying to force interaction.
She may be a good fit for an experienced rabbit family or for someone who understands that a sassy doe can be both entertaining and deeply lovable. A home interested in bonding her should be prepared for careful introductions and should understand that Missy may ultimately prefer to remain a single rabbit.
As a mature adult, Missy is past the unpredictable baby stage while still having the potential to share several wonderful years with the right family. We are looking for someone who will see her age not as a disadvantage, but as an opportunity to give a very special rabbit the comfortable, thoroughly spoiled life she deserves.
Placement Notes
Missy is being placed as an indoor companion rabbit through our normal placement process. She will go to an approved home only, and all placements are based on thoughtful fit rather than first-come availability.
Her new family should be prepared to provide a safe indoor setup, daily interaction, proper diet, regular grooming, and appropriate veterinary care as needed. A signed placement agreement is required.
Because Missy is an adult rabbit with an established personality, her placement will be made with special attention to household rhythm, expectations, and overall compatibility. We want her to go to a home that appreciates who she is and is prepared to help her settle in with patience and consistency.
