Figgy Pudding, or Pudding as we usually call her, is absolutely stunning! I have such a fondness for the way the light shimmers of light over a healthy black coat that it always makes my heart skip a beat. At this point, her head is nice and wide, she has lovely ears (although there is some question of ear control that will hopefully still come), and she has the thick build Holland Lops are supposed to have. She is yummy!
Figgy Pudding has a seriously grumpy "old soul" thing going on, much like the chocolate baby doe Holly. She likes to observe the world, hunker down and take a nap. She will sniff around a bit when in an unfamiliar situation, but this doe is not exerting herself for anyone or anything unless she wants to. If you can make her think everything is her idea, she will get up and do things, but it can never be at your suggestion. She will most likely be a food motivated bribery bunny.
She accepts cuddles and will sit "happily" with her person, although she wears a perpetually grumpy expression. As a lumpy Bun who doesn't do too much, she will appreciate the warmth of a nice lap and a soft blanket, rather like a sedentary cat.
Pudding looks like she will be about 4-4.5 lbs when fully grown (be careful of weight gain from too many treats.) Her coat is incredibly soft and silky, just like Penelope's. Petting her is an absolute joy. Brushing her coat should occur 2-3 times per week when not molting, but daily during a molt.
Figgy Pudding is seeking a family where she will be included in all gatherings, but not expected to participate beyond her comfort level. She will love to observe the goings-on, but may become overstimulated by too many people or too much noise, and may decide to hop to an out of the way nook where she can feel safe but still keep watch on the activity. She would do fine with older children who are familiar with the need to respect animals. A cat could be viewed as a comfortable companion, but she might turn up her nose at a yappy dog.
As the Hot Cross Buns are raised to be pampered pets, we do require the signing of a Spay/Neuter Agreement as part of our placement paperwork. Please speak to your rabbit-knowledgeable vet to inquire about their services and fees.
All of the baby Buns go to their new homes with a bag full of goodies including: a packet of bunny care information, a small bag of transition food and hay, a snack baggie of old-fashioned raw oats for treats, a toy, and a fleece snuggle mat.
